Union Hills Storm Drain

 Design and survey for one mile of precast 11-foot x 11-foot concrete box culvert in Union Hills Drive from 43rd Avenue to 51st Avenue. The work element included preparation of construction plans, specifications, estimates, details, pipe sizing and hydraulics.
The plans were designed to accommodate the selection of four alternate (Alt) drain designs. - Alt #1 was a 12-foot reinforced concrete pipe;
- Alt #2 was an 11-foot x 11-foot box culvert using precast roof and walls with a cast-in-place floor;
- Alt #3 was a precast 11-foot x 11-foot box culvert;
- Alt #4 was a cast-in-place 12-foot x 11-foot concrete box culvert.
A unique feature of the project was the need to develop special details for sleeving of three separate sanitary sewer pipelines through the storm drain line.
