This project required the bridge replacement of the Landon Springs Bridge and a drainage study along US 89A between Oak Creek Canyon and Flagstaff Highway. 

PEC prepared construction plans for removal and replacement of the existing bridge. A drainage study was prepared including an HEC-2 analysis to assist the ADOT - Structures Section in the preparation of a bridge selection report. 

This project was in an environmentally sensitive area. In order to maintain the pristine conditions of the natural spring, it was necessary to provide routing and control of sediment conveyance under low flow conditions to prevent contamination of the natural spring. 

This project required the preparation of:

• alternate highway designs reflecting bridge placement vs. box culvert
• field surveys, detour plans
• earthwork
• estimates
• special provisions
• Coordination with the Flagstaff District Engineer, ADOT - Environmental Section and the U.S. Forest Service.
