PEC provided horizontal and vertical control of one (1) foot contouraerial mapping surveying services for twenty-four (24) miles of theLight Rail.
Project included establishing vertical control using a WildNA2000 precision digital level with a data collector, and establishingone hundred twenty-five (125) horizontal and vertical panel points, controlling two hundred seventy-five (275) section corners, quartercorners, and centerline points.
Three (3) Ashtech Z-12 units were usedto produce 1 Airborne G.P.S. session, three (3) static G.P.S. sessions, and twenty-five (25) kinematic G.P.S. sessions. PEC also providedutility mapping for this project. Results were calculated through postprocessing of three Ashtech Z-12 GPS receivers. One used in the planecollecting photo center data and two ground base units. Only one baseunit is required to obtain required results; however, PEC uses two baseunits to insure quality through cross checking and redundancy.
