BYU Wymount Housing Site Improvements
|
| |
Wymount Housing is a student housing complex on the Brigham Young University Campus. The Complex is situated at the foothills on the Eastern portion of the Campus on steep terrain, creating a potential for higher runoff. PEC was retained to be the Civil Engineer, and to mitigate flooding hazards and provide solutions to meet ADA requirements for the Complex. PEC provided solutions to capture and channelize runoff away from buildings and minimizes bypass runoff. Design included approximately 1,750 linear feet of storm drainage piping, 600 linear feet of interior roadway, and ADA accessibility to 8 housing units in four buildings. Design efforts were particularly sensitive to existing landscape features, and many iterations were made to protect existing trees and playground areas. The design was approved by BYU engineering.
