For any construction project to be successful and meet its goals, the correct materials testing team needs to be in place. We feel there are three key characteristics to a successful materials testing team:
- Certified engineering technicians and laboratory that have materials testing experience on a wide variety of projects.
- A team with problem solving capabilities and who are familiar with the testing processes.
- A team who understands the importance of accurate and timely documentation.
PEC technicians currently hold the following certifications:
- International Conference of Building Officials-Special Inspector for Masonry, Structural Steel, Reinforcing Steel, and Concrete Construction
- American Concrete Institute-Grades I and II Concrete Technician
- WAQTC-Concrete, Sampling, Density, Laboratory, and Asphalt
- American Welding Society-Certified Welding Inspector
- American Society of Nondestructive Testing-Levels I and II, Ultrasonic, Dye-Penetrant and Magnetic Particles
PEC also meets all the requirements as an approved testing agency with the following accrediting/certification authorities:
- AASHTO Materials Reference Laboratory (AMRL)
- Cement and Concrete Reference Laboratory (CCRL)
- American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM)
- American Concrete Institute (ACI)
