PEC provided construction monitoring and survey control. This project was an 18-foot finished diameter tunnel approximately 16,000 feet in length. A soft ground shield was used during excavation of the tunnel in the SGC material, which existed under the Price Road alignment. The initial lining used was precast concrete segments, with the final lining cast-in-place. Drop structures with air release chambers was constructed at the Southern end of the tunnel and an access shaft, pump shaft and structure was constructed on the northern end.
