Cave Creek/CAP Sewer Line, City of Phoenix

PEC designed and surveyed two and one-half miles of 36-inch sanitary sewer line from Union Hills Drive to the Central Arizona Project Canal (CAP), that included 300 linear feet of tunneling under the CAP. This project consisted of field surveys, right-of-way drawings, legal descriptions, preparation of details, cost estimates, and construction plans. A route study was performed prior to the design. However, as the proposed alignment was studied it was discovered that re-routing was less expensive because existing easements could be utilized rather than having to purchase new right-of-way. The revised alignment was incorporated into the construction plans. PEC coordinated with the Bureau of Reclamation, Central Arizona Water Conservation District and a number of utility companies involved with the project. PEC provided post design services for shop drawing reviews and special consulting services for chemical grout injection, ventilation system and alarm monitoring system for subsidence and inspection services.
