Deem Hills Water Line, City of Phoenix/HDR Engineering

PEC performed field surveys and design for the preparation of construction plans for this two and one-half-mile water main project. The project included 42-inch, 48-inch and 60-inch steel cylinder pipe with welded restrained joints where required. Butterfly valves were installed with manhole vaults, fire hydrant blow off assemblies; combination air/vacuum relief systems and 24-inch flanged side outlets with manhole vaults were provided for access to the main line on each side of the large butterfly valves. The 48-inch water main was located in an environmentally sensitive area. The plans also called for trench lining to prevent future contamination from a proposed city landfill. PEC also prepared paving plans, storm drain plans, parking lot plans, blasting requirements, right-of-way plans, mapping, legal descriptions and parcel exhibits for the project.
