Cave Creek Road Water Transmission Line, City of Phoenix

The first phase of this project was an aerial survey for approximately 20 miles of the proposed alignment along Cave Creek Boulevard from Deer Valley Road to Dove Valley Road and a portion of the future Mayo Boulevard alignment to be used by PEC and seven other engineering consultants. The second phase was the design of 9,300 L.F. of 54-inch diameter water transmission main and parallel 36-inch diameter reclaimed water main on a portion of the proposed alignment. PEC's assignment also included coordination with other consultants, supplemental surveys and adherence to an aggressive design schedule. Major work elements included all necessary engineering work incidental to field surveys, aerial control survey, cost estimates, supplemental specifications, design plans for construction and post design services. Butterfly valves were installed with manhole vaults, fire hydrant blow off assemblies, and steel cylinder pipe with welded restrained joints as required. Portions of the 20-mile proposed alignment were in an environmentally sensitive area requiring PEC's assistance in securing the 404 Permit. Right-of-way plans were also developed for the entire 20 miles. In compliance with ADWR, PEC also provided structural calculations and design drawings for proposed boring and jacking through the Cave Buttes Dam Dike No. 2. Project.
