Ray Road, City of Phoenix

Preparation of construction plans and specifications for pavement widening and median modifications to Ray Road between 48th Street and I-10. The plans included driveway modifications, culvert relocations, embankment fill, retaining walls; overhead sign structure relocations, bridge deck modifications and utility relocation. The project included multi-agency involvement since the City of Phoenix and ADOT right-of-way was utilized. The purpose of the project was to lessen traffic congestion by adding a westbound through lane and eastbound left turn lanes. PEC extended the service road culvert under the southbound lanes of I-10 to provide equipment access to the City of Phoenix lift station. Special considerations had to be implemented to maintain access to this lift station.
